The MolBiolNet Toolbar is the fastest and easiest way to get the information you want from NCBI databases (PubMed, Protein, Nucleotide, and Taxonomy) and from other biological Web resources. You can also use its normal search engine facility, which uses Google.
It also allows you to search Google and Amazon books directory and contains links for fast redirection to literature databases, companies websites, BLAST, ClustalW as well as the Oxford University Bioinformatics Centre (OUBC). All previous searches (up to 20) are stored in the history box. You can clear the history box from the MolBiolNet Toolbar main menu by clicking "Clear Search History" option.
The MolBiol.Net Toolbar is FREE to download and appears every time you open a new Internet Explorer window (FAQ).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) | |
| Question | Answer |
| How many people use these toolbars? | Hundreds of scientists already use them to save time and find what they're looking for quickly. |
| What does it do? |
The toolbar lets you navigate to many science websites you use like a ready-made bookmark or favourites list, as well as letting you search the internet using the world's leading Google search engine. |
| What else? |
You can use the toolbar to search Google (it is Google enabled), as well as PubMed, or search NCBI directly for nucleotides, proteins, taxonomy, and even search for online protocols. You can also use it to search for books quickly. |
| Download time? |
A couple of minutes on a dial-up modem, 50 seconds on 128K, 13 seconds or less on DSL, much less from most academic institutions - but it'll probably save you many hours for years to come! |
| What is the Forum? |
BioScience Forum is a new community for molecular biologists and those in related fields to discuss tools, protocols and troubleshooting. You can register or post freely without registration, and nearly 100 people are joining it every week. |
| What is MolBiol.Net? |
MolBiol.Net is a huge and growing database of links to online resources for biological scientists - it is free for all and requires no registration at all, and there is no fee. We host several free bioinformatics and molecular biology tools, but we link to nearly one thousand. Our links are well categorized and easy to use. More than 50,000 people have visited http://www.molbiol.net since it emerged nearly a year ago. We pride ourselves on running free services. |
| What does Books link to? |
Books links to ISBNbookfinder.com - a superfast academic booksearch tool that lets you search by author, title or ISBN numbers. You can also find out an ISBN number hence the name. We have a partnership with an academic bookseller in the UK which allows scientists to buy books online which are often unavailable from more 'pulp fiction' stores like Amazon.com. If you couldn't find it at Amazon, then give this a whirl. |
| What is Bioexplorer? |
The toolbar was programmed for MolBiolNet by Sergey Kosourev of Bioexplorer.Net - a site with which we work closely. |
| What's the catch? |
There is none - it is absolutely free, no registration is involved - we just hope you might come and visit MolBiol.Net a little more often in the future. You can also e-mail us using a link on the toolbar, to tell us about what great new tools or links for scientists you have seen on the net. |
